Preparations, preparations, preparations…

By conference chairs

fNIRS 2024 is only 1 year away now, and we continue working on the preparations aiming for the best fNIRS ever. The calendar with the important dates has now been approved by the SfNIRS and the dates for submissions, notification of acceptance and registrations are now published. The tentative program is also ready although some small changes may be expected to better reflect the distribution of the accepted abstracts as we come closer to the conference dates. Also, we have been busy contacting an outstanding list of speakers from all over the world. Prof Joseph Culver will be giving the keynote lecture. Prof David Delpy, one of the historic pioneers of fNIRS will be delivering the presidential lecture. Also, prominent researchers of our community will be covering the invited lectures; Prof Antonia Hamilton, Prof Judit Gervain, Dr David Highton, Dr Xiaojun Cheng and Dr Bettina Sorger have all been confirmed.

In the logistics side, although this is still at an early stage and we have a lot of work ahead of us, we have started working on the abstract submission site in collaboration with the society. Finally, in collaboration with the Center for Human Brain Health from the University of Birmingham, a logo competition was held locally and winner has already been selected. We expect to launch the official logo very soon now.
